It’s that time of year again… time for me to recover from the holidays and get organized again. And since Fixer Upper is my current favorite TV show I’m going to add some farmhouse storage ideas to my 1970’s retro townhouse. Joanna Gaines has inspired me! Follow me on Instagram to see how it turns out. (NOTE: This post has been so popular and I keep finding such great ideas that I wrote a second post… 25+ MORE Farmhouse Storage Ideas.)

Farmhouse Storage Ideas
Magazine Rack with Chalkboard Label – magazines, books, or mail
French Farmhouse Stacked Galvanized Buckets –
Farmhouse Hanging Wire Basket – I can see this in a bathroom or mudroom. This one is currently sold out but try this hanging basket instead!
{{{ See my second post, 25+ MORE Farmhouse Storage Ideas HERE. }}}
Farmhouse Basket – Great for kindling near the fireplace.
Multi-bin Wire Storage Unit – I need this in my bathroom for rolled up hand towels and washcloths.
Long Wall Basket – This is meant to hang on the wall but wouldn’t it make a great centerpiece?
Rusty Wire Wall Basket Set – Here’s a set if you have a smaller area to fill.
2-Tier Stand – Great kitchen storage… fruit and veggies, snacks, mugs, etc. SOLD OUT — Here’s another 2-tier wood stand for kitchen storage!
Chicken Basket – This one reminds me of going to gather the eggs when I was a little girl!
4-Bin Wood Crate – I love the chalkboard fronts on this one! SOLD OUT – Try these wood crates with chalkboard sides instead.
Bathroom Ladder Shelf – My bathroom needs this shelf! BONUS: It’s in the NEW Amazon Handmade shop!
Kitchen Storage Bins – Handmade from reclaimed wood. SOLD OUT! I’m looking for another option to replace this.
Wire Magazine Holder – SOLD OUT — {looking for another option!}
Divided Metal Cutlery Caddy – I have a small kitchen so instead of taking up an extra drawer with my daily silverware I leave it on the counter all the time. This wouldn’t take up much space and it would hold enough silverware and napkins for day to day use. Plus you can easily move it out to the patio in the summer.
Three-tier Rustic Metal Basket –
Two-tier Fruit Basket – I love this one because it wouldn’t take up much room on my kitchen counter!
And here are a few more ideas:
- 3-Tier Metal Market Baskets
- Antique Style Galvanized Tin Canister Set
- Rectangular Galvanized Containers, Set of Two
- Rustic Industrial Farmhouse Aqua Storage Bins — SOLD OUT {looking for a similar option}
- Galvanized Metal Wall Pocket — SOLD OUT {looking for a similar option}
- Wall-mounted License Plate Mail Holder

I enjoyed this. I wish someone like you would write a blog on how to take a more modern home and transform it into something more like Chip and Joanna’s house. Where does one start? Do you just start painting in a neutral color. Then start with ONE area and try to change it over? Furniture is so expensive, like a dining table and chairs.. I wouldn’t know where to start and make a change in my house where I can add to it from these great ideas! I don’t have a decorating bone in my body, but I loved your ideas of this is great, what about as a centerpiece? Those tips are priceless and that gives me ideas I could not come up with on my own!

Thanks, Pamela! I’ll do a little research and see if I can come up with some pointers for you.

Ann, enjoyed your post & pinned a couple of places. Did you actually make all these things yourself??? Awesome!! I love the rustic farmhouse look, and I see that everyone else must too! Your items are sooo attractive!

No, these I didn’t make. They’re just things and ideas I’ve collected.
